ABOUT US

The Oriental Dragon Boat Club was started in 2012.   We are very fortunate to have a regulation Dragon Boat, with which to practice.  Paddling a Dragon Boat is suitable for all skill and age levels (our Club's minimum age is 16).  We offer regular training and practice sessions, as well as the chance to take part in organized races and festivals throughout the state, including the Oriental Dragon Boat Festival usually held in August.  The Dragon Masters' typical race may be from 200 meters to 500 meters.   We are always looking for and welcome new members.  Check out our Membership Page for details on how to join.

Our practices are held at the "Wildlife Ramp" at the foot of the bridge in Oriental, NC.  We welcome interested paddlers - no experience necessary.  Come and join us for a free practice session to try it out.  All you'll need to bring is some water, and a hat and sunglasses if so desired, and you'll be ready to go.  The Club will provide you with a life jacket, safety orientation, paddle, and paddling instructions.  Go to our Practice Schedule for the dates and times of our practices.

Paddles Up!
